Here are some of the complications that can arise from unemployment (and you may already know these, but they will illustrate how a strong spiritual faith can give us an adequate remedy).
When unemployment comes (or under employment), the impact on your financial life can be negative, especially if you are supporting a family, need health insurance, or have expenses that are not easily dumped (house or new car). The longer your unemployment lasts, the more pressure you feel. This impacts your attitude or your mental life. Not having health insurance can definitely impact your health (physical life, financial life, and mental life) and lead to complexities that are not easily resolved.
When these complications arise, friendships become strained (social life is impacted). Enough financial pressure impacts your family life. Tempers become short and sometimes bonds are broken beyond repair.
All of this can result from unemployment.
Faith in Jesus Christ is the answer, not for only a crisis in employment, but for all of life’s quandaries.
Beginning a relationship with the living Jesus Christ is simple. Here is the path:
1) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. These verses mean that Jesus offers you a relationship with Him. You begin this relationship by turning from whatever you are current believing in and place your trust in Jesus Christ,
2) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Here are some of the promises, yes, promises, that a believer in Jesus Christ has a claim to:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 These verses let us know that if we trust in God, He will lead us where He wants us to go.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 In other words, do not worry because worrying never solves anything. But tell God your needs. If employment is one of your needs, He will help you find the employment you need if you trust Him.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19. I personally know this to be true. I’ve claimed this promise MANY times. Notice, the promise does not specify “wants” but indicates needs.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 The verse says ALL things and that is what it means, be the things good or bad. God can work bad things for your good and does so because He sees from a different perspective than we do. Every time a job ended badly in my career, I trusted in this promise and it ALWAYS came true.
