The weather has an effect on my attitude and my outlook on life on any given day. I just experienced 5 consecutive days of rainy, gray weather where I thought the sun would never break through the clouds. Although that type of weather may be great for buying a car, gray skies tend to make me want to stay home and watch a movie or sometimes read a book. The last thing on my mind would be gearing up for a job search. Fortunately, a lot of people are not like me.
This morning, blue skies prevailed with a myriad of colors to compliment the sunlight. An occasional billowy, white cloud in the sky added to the colors, making it an optimistic day in my environment. What made me feel so vibrant and alive were the crisp temperatures and the wind. I think it must be in the low 30s and I do not see the temperature rising above the 40s today.
Attitude had everything to do with a job search, regardless of your employment status. If you are unemployed or feel trapped in your job, the motivation to change your situation can be real and authentic. Unfortunately, when my motivation has previously been real, I have been affected by a streak of bad weather that broke my consistency and I caused myself to endure an even longer search.
Spending time alone and feeding positive thoughts into your mind will help you, as it helps me. Developing a consistency regarding positive input into your mind will eventually re-program your thoughts, which will manifest itself in the implementation of positive actions.
The best part about today is that it is new day and can be a new beginning for you.
