Happy New Year to you. 2017. A fresh start, a new beginning and a time of genuine renewal.
As we lean into the start of the year, many of you hold uncertain employment futures. You could be unemployed, or you could be employed in a position that is less than satisfying to you. Your employment may underutilize your skill sets, or perhaps you have a contentious relationship with your supervisor or a coworker.
There is hope for you. There is hope for changing your circumstances. If you are a believer, that hope is tangible.
“For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
We are all encouraged by a leader who stirs us to move ahead, someone who believes we can do the task he has given and who will be with us all the way. God is that kind of leader. He knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope. As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering or hardship, but that God will see us through to a positive conclusion. (Notes from the Living Bible.)
Now is the time to act.
Jeremiah 29:11
